The Garden in Reno - Cafe, Wedding Styling, Event Design, Floral Deliveries, Classes, Event Venue, and a Magical Place to Hang Out

Location

Business Snapshot
The Garden in Reno is an enchanting oasis for premium coffee, tea, and tasty bites. Beyond being the perfect hangout spot, it also provides services such as wedding styling, venue rental, event design, floral deliveries, and engaging classes like succulent arrangements.  Grab a comfy seat, sip on a cup of the good life while making memories that will last a lifetime at The Garden - your go-to spot in Reno for a delightful experience.

The Garden is an exquisitely decorated haven, thoughtfully accented with floral accents and brimming with personality. It's a space where one can savor craft coffee and delectable bites, gather with friends and family, and joyously celebrate life.

Beyond its role as a cozy retreat, The Garden transforms into an event planning powerhouse, dedicated to simplifying life by managing all the elements required for a spectacular event.

Out of a need to meet with clients in a more comfortable setting that showcases their craft, owners Nathan and Christina, along with their daughter, Jessica, created the Garden.

This remarkable family has been immersed in event planning for over a decade (12+ years, as I recall), weaving magic into bouquets, floral arrangements, and enchanting wedding/event-scapes.

I've had the pleasure of talking to Nathan, one of the owners of The Garden and he was so kind and happy to tell me more about his business.

I've found that the common denominator to happy business owners is their profound passion and genuine love for what they do.  This couldn't be more true in the case of Nathan, his family.

Nathan spoke so highly of his wife and daughter and their role in the success of their family-owned business.

What he didn't mention was his part in the equation.  He's a master wood craftsman that builds custom structures for company rentals.  If you have a vision, they can make it come to life.

Have a look at their portfolio & you'll find plenty of pictures of their amazing work from numerous past events.  I highly recommend them for all of life's special occasions.

Whether you're in search of a cozy hangout spot, a place to enjoy a cup of coffee, beautiful floral arrangements, or event services, The Garden has something special for everyone. And don't forget, The Garden is also the perfect venue for special occasions like baby showers, tea parties, birthdays, bachelorette parties, and more. The possibilities are truly endless for creating delightful memories.

Feel free to connect with me on Instagram for more hidden gems. Drop a "hello" and share your experiences and cherished spots. I love hearing from everyone.

Peace, Love, & Kindness,
Kat

Caricatures are one of the most popular forms of entertainment, often done by artists at theme parks, street fairs, carnivals, parties, and even weddings.

They're also commonly found in comics, newspapers, editorial cartoons, and entertainment magazines.

No matter what occasion, big or small, people will enjoy the experience of witnessing a talented artist's portrayal of themselves.

Here in Reno, we have our very own talented caricature artist, Michael Hopkins, whose work can be found in webcomics, books, and at events.

I hired Michael Hopkins for an Easter party and wanted to let everyone know of his amazing abilities in capturing the essence of people in such a short time.

If you’re like me and are constantly looking for ways to make your events special, Michale's service if definitely a great option.

In the past, I was unsuccessful in finding a caricature artist like himself for an event and was so happy to one day, see his work pop up on my feed from Whitney Peak Hotel's Instagram account

I quickly messaged him for details about his services and found out that he was open and flexible to working at any event.

Micheal has been passionate about art for as long as he can remember and was that student doodling on the side of Mad Magazine, getting in trouble for what would become a gift for our world.

Not only is Michael talented, he's also very kind and down to earth.

Michael would be the cherry on top of any special occasion, giving your guests a lasting memory to take home as their souvenir.

I love that Reno celebrates art and artists, and encourages them to be themselves and pursue their talents.

Artists are a big part of what makes Reno special, with their art on display all around town, their music brightening our days, and with others, like Michael, cartoonizing people into fun cartoon characters.

I'm so happy for Michael to be the first artist I introduce on my blog under services.

If you would like to show support for Michael Hopkins, you can follow him on Instagram to help put him on the map, like and comment on his posts, write reviews about him, and spread the word about his services.

He's starting to book up, so securing a spot for future events is highly suggested.

He travels and offers color and multiple people in one drawing.

The amount of people he can finish depends on what is asked of him.

He's also available for custom work.

Michael arrives 30 mins. early to events to set up his table.

Michael was kind to share the biggest little bio of himself.

Bio

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I've spent most of my life drawing funny pictures and raising children.

My artistic style was inspired by Seattle Cartoonist, Bob McCausland, and the legendary Caricaturist, Al Hirschfeld.

My sense of humor was mostly inspired by Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy and Chuck Jones.

From an early age, some of my favorite memories involved drawing pictures. I remember getting in trouble in the third grade, for drawing on the side of my homework (ala Mad Magazine) and having teachers in high school ask me to draw caricatures of other teachers they didn't like.

After high school, raising children and finding a way to support them financially took priority over drawing funny pictures (although I still kept a pen in India ink). As such, I ventured into the hospitality industry and eventually became a hotel manager.

After 10 years in hotel management and only my youngest son, still at home, I decided to refocus on the drawing.

Of course, since drawing alone didn't pay the bills, I had several side gigs to help pay for that (i.e., drawing and bartending, drawing and fueling airplanes, etc.) However, to this day, drawing remains the main focus.

I have created two webcomics and sold my Pen & Ink Caricatures all over the world.

Some of my aviation cartoons were also featured in Martin Leeuwis' aviation humor book Good Landing (in which some of the art from that book was featured at the opening of the Dutch Air Force, Aviation Museum).
